3 Top Tips of using BODYLINE® Masking Tape in the Repair Process

8/08/16

Masking is a vital part of any repair process, as repairers want to ensure paint is sprayed where it is intended to avoid any unwanted overspray. The Bodyline masking tape range has been designed to provide repairers with an effective solution in terms of accuracy, protection & ease of handling.

Tip 1

Have you as a bodyshop ever considered using a 38mm tape instead of a 50mm tape? The 38mm tape will still provide a perfect solution for what you are trying to do but will ultimately reduce the cost of materials for your bodyshop.

Fold the masking tape over so that any paint overspray sticks to the tape rather than the panel.

Tip 2

Save time removing fixtures and fittings using Bodyline Trim masking tape. This will lift the edge of the trim away from the panel allowing for an invisible repair.

Tip 3

A great solution in preventing unwanted overspray is to use Bodyline Foam Masking Tape. This is a specialist tape that has excellent absorbent properties to prevent contamination and is extremely versatile as it fits into a wide variety of jambs. A great tip to remember is when removing the tape always pull it towards you, this way it won’t leave any residue from the glue.
